So I have decided that I am going to run a 1/2 marathon after the birth of our third daughter. I have no idea if we actually have enough money for me to participate in this race or not. But I am going to start training and see what happens. It's a long time from now.
I can hear some of you asking how I can train for a race when I am pregnant. Well, first off I have known many-many-many people who exercised throughout their pregnancies (even running) and did just fine. I am not going to go crazy with it, but I have found a training program that should help me get into condition to train for the 1/2 marathon during pregnancy, and then a program to actually train for it after the baby is born. If it goes as expected I should be "race ready" by Christmas (nice present to me huh?).
And what 1/2 marathon am I shooting for? I want to run the Disney Princess 1/2 Marathon that takes place during the weekend of February 22 - 24, 2013. I think I actually might be able to do this... want to cheer me on?
UPDATE: My husband just told me (and I quote) "If you can train for it, I'll work extra and buy your ticket, hotel, and take time off work to watch the kids while you are gone." How's that for support?!
UPDATE: I am putting my "fitness" posts under the sense of touch... because these are goals that I am reaching for with my hands and running for with my feet!!!
